Walk Slowly by Danna Faulds

It only takes a reminder to breathe,

A moment to be still, and just like that,

Something in me settles, softens, makes space for imperfection.

The harsh voice of judgment drops to a whisper

And I remember again that life isn’t a relay race;

That we will all cross the finish line;

That waking up to life is what we were born for.

As many times as I forget, catch myself charging

Forward without even knowing where I’m going,

That many times I can make the choice

To stop, to breathe, and be, and walk

Slowly into the mystery.

Attune to your Body

Lie down on your back, either on a mat or your bed.

You may choose to bend both knees, placing your feet on the mat and walking your feet towards the outer edges of your mat (or wider than hip width distance). Then allow your knees to gently lean towards each other.

You're welcome to place one hand over your heart and one hand over your abdomen.

Notice the rise and fall of your hands as you breathe in and out.

Notice if it may be possible for you to find a moment of stillness/ rest, to just be and breathe.

Perhaps allowing yourself to settle, to soften and to be fully supported by the mat/ bed below you.

Let your eyes close gently if you'd like.

Repeat as often as you would like or whenever you feel your body craving some rest!

Contemplate with Soul

Invite in gentle curiousity as you sit with the following questions and journal/ draw/ creatively express/ move your body and allow the answers to emerge from within.

1. On a scale of 0 to 10 (0 being super relaxed to 10 being super stressed), how stressed are you currently feeling?

2. Do I need more stress (stimulus i.e. the good kind of stress) or rest in my life?

3. If you're higher on the stress scale, what are you feeling stressed about (and try to be as specific and concrete as you can get)?

4. Where in your body are you holding on to your stress?

5. What is ONE thing you can do now to balance the scale between stress and rest?

Interested in a deeper connection?

Let's meet over coffee (online)!

This is an emergent process and I will continue exploring different forms of writing/ connecting through this newsletter. If you'd like to contribute to this experimentation, feel free to share your thoughts through this 3-min survey.
