\n \nWalk Slowly by Danna Faulds \n\nIt only takes a reminder to breathe, \nA moment to be still, and just like that, \nSomething in me settles, softens, makes space for imperfection. \n \nThe harsh voice of judgment drops to a whisper \nAnd I remember again that life isn’t a relay race; \nThat we will all cross the finish line; \nThat waking up to life is what we were born for. \nAs many times as I forget, catch myself charging \nForward without even knowing where I’m going, \nThat many times I can make the choice \nTo stop, to breathe, and be, and walk \nSlowly into the mystery. \n |
\n Lie down on your back, either on a mat or your bed. \nYou may choose to bend both knees, placing your feet on the mat and walking your feet towards the outer edges of your mat (or wider than hip width distance). Then allow your knees to gently lean towards each other. \nYou're welcome to place one hand over your heart and one hand over your abdomen. \nNotice the rise and fall of your hands as you breathe in and out. \nNotice if it may be possible for you to find a moment of stillness/ rest, to just be and breathe. \nPerhaps allowing yourself to settle, to soften and to be fully supported by the mat/ bed below you. \nLet your eyes close gently if you'd like. \n \nRepeat as often as you would like or whenever you feel your body craving some rest! \n |
\n Invite in gentle curiousity as you sit with the following questions and journal/ draw/ creatively express/ move your body and allow the answers to emerge from within. \n 2. Do I need more stress (stimulus i.e. the good kind of stress) or rest in my life? \n3. If you're higher on the stress scale, what are you feeling stressed about (and try to be as specific and concrete as you can get)? \n4. Where in your body are you holding on to your stress? \n5. What is ONE thing you can do now to balance the scale between stress and rest? \n \n |
